Settle a debate: Did you do the background vocals on "Wanted Dead or Alive" or Richie (as shown in the video)? Because I think "Blaze of Glory", a solo album, sounds eerily similar.

I was one of the fans allowed onto the stage of one of Bon Jovi's Jones Beach performances about 12 years ago. I remember getting to sit behind you as you sang "Bad Medicine." The stage was actually a floating pier, and I wondered if it was difficult to set up and perform on such an unusual platform. Keep Rockin', hope to see you in Tampa, FL sometime!

Jon, First of all, I am a huge and long time fan. I am the 40 year old mother of one 14 year old daughter, who I have also turned into a huge fan. My question is...... How does your career affect your relationship with your children? I have only one child, my husband and I have jobs that require both of us to work long hours. I have noticed since I do work more hours my daughter and I aren't as close as we once were.. I was just wondering how you handled the "career" and being a dad?

In a heterogeneous society what is individual vs. social responsibility, and how do you propose to protect the nation from common abuses which take place in them? Where does one stop and the other start?

Is media a victimization of American middle class through which the audiences are given gatekept class selectivity, parsed coded language to avoid issues and empty patriotism to keep them coming back, while making the media people and those who perform in it richer, more famous and voice-dominant? How do you propose to deal with it?

Socially how members of minority races are taken advantage by the members of in-power majority race? How do you propose to deal with it?

Also you are multi-talented, will you be doing anymore films? Also I still have not seen you in concert yet but I promise before I leave this earth I will experience Bon Jovi in Concert....I love you guys......

Hi Jon,

I have two questions for you. First, you mention faith a lot in your songs. What is your own spiritual life like and what religous concepts are important for you to pass on to your children?

Second, would you ever consider donating the royalties of one of your songs to charity? You have said before that "Welcome to Wherever You Are" was a song that you thought would be a much bigger hit. I believe the song would be a great anthem for those of us living with Multiple Sclerosis. Would you donate the royalties for this song to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society?

There are many religious references made in your music over the years- Living On A Prayer, -only God would know the reason but I know He must have had a plan, Hey God, Lay Your Hands On Me, Keep The Faith etc.... You have a very large fanclub consisting of the very loyal bunch from years past as well as a bunch of new and much younger fans. Do you ever read the postings? Get involved in fanclub issues such as special fanclub events, ticket sales, etc? And, if the answer is NO. Why Not? Busy is obvious, but not an option. Maybe you should. These fans have supported Bon Jovi for many years. They deserve the interest of the Band Members.

First of all, Jon, I have been inspired by your music for over 20 years and think you are one of the best songwriters out there. You never seem to get caught up in the hype and have stayed grounded and true to yourself over the years. I really respect and admire that.....so, as busy as you are and all that you do for others, what do you do to relax?.....Also, wondering when you might start acting again......I have seen pretty much everything you have been in and think you are pretty darn good in that area too!!

I have tons of pictures of yourself, but the question, that I need to know is, which arm, is your Super Man tattoo on, cause I have pictures of it, on your right upper arm, and some on your left upper arm, And when I met you, backstage, at the Philadelphia Spectrum, on feb. 22nd, 1993, you were wearing long sleaves, so I couldn't see!! PLEASE tell me which side Super Man is on!! THANK-YOU Dawn

Jon,

I have followed the ROCk genre since my High School days in the 80's. As a matter of fact I remember seeing your band back when you were the opening for the Scorpions and your act was brash and full of curse words. Since that night I have seen you many times and watched your band grow as has your music. Being much older now I have widened my music interest and in the last 3-4 years I have become a big fan of Country Music. I found it very interesting that your band has now gained a country flavor of its own...given recent collaberations on the radio that I have heard. What has driven your interest towards the Counrtry Music scene and have you always had an interest in Country Music?

Hi Jon! I've been a follower of the Church of Jovi since waaaaaay back in the 80's when I saw you and the boys on an MTV biography and realized that you and I have the same birthday! I've felt "connected" ever since. Although I'm not old just older by 3 years..haha! Being a fellow Piscean,I know that your creativeness, kindness, ambition, dedication, compassion, perserverance, loyalty, honesty, caring and over all huge, kind heart are all part of your nature. It's what makes you unique. You are also the definition of integrity, which,in my opinion is why you knock the top off the sexy hunk-o-meter.Sorry..,just had to say that! ;) My question is this..how do you find the balance you have in your life? My little life is no where near as complicated and busy as yours and balance is something I'm lacking and hope to acheive. Is there a certain regime you do in what down time you do have or is being onstage the "release" that allows you to focus and put all your ducks in a row so to speak? Thank you for all you do as a songwriter, musician, philanthropist and all around kind human being.Your lyrics, music and smile always make make my day brighter!

Dear Mr. Jon Bon Jovi,

I belong to that generation of your fans that cropped up after you released Crush in 2000. I was blown away by that album, and unlike many others, I didn't stop at that. I've heard all your works , right from your self-titled album to Lost Highway, which was a genius of an album. Great job, you guys! Keep up the good work.

I'm among your biggest fans on this side of the world, and let me tell you, your band has a HUGE fan base in the Asian subcontinent, more so in India. People have started to discover your previous works, and your fan following keeps increasing by the day. You guys mean so much to me, i still feel really bad that i could never make it to any of your live performances yet. :(

India has seen performances by Music legends such as Elton John, Pink Floyd, Sting, and more recently Bryan Adams (Twice) , Iron Maiden, Shakira and Aerosmith as well. But its disheartening to see that America's Greatest Band shows least interest towards their Indian fan base. We here keep asking our American counterparts to elaborate on the "BJ LIVE" experience, and follow up your concerts through the DVD's that you release.

I speak for milllions when i ask : When do we expect to hear about an Indian leg in your tour itinerary? Please be kind enough to come down here and perform at an arena for the hundreds of thousands of fans that you have in this part of the world. It would be a dream come true for millions of people in the country, me included, to see the Number 1 band in the world, Live in India. We've waited long enough for this moment to come, and we hope we'll get to see you LIVE in India ASAP. :)

About the question, well.., I always wanted to know what set Dorothea apart from the hundreds of millions of other girls who would die to spend their life with you? What was so special in her, that made you stick to her through the highs and lows of your life? What was that special quality in her, that prevented you from straying into other relationships, like many other rockstars have done in the past, and in the present? Is your relationship with Dorothea the best example of the Power of Love?

I hope you take the time to answer my query, and that I get to see you onstage here real soon. You've always been my hero, my idol, my everything since 2000, and will continue to remain so. Please don't ever let us down. :)

I thank the Time Magazine for giving me the oppurtunity to post my query, and hope Jon gets to read it as well.

Your Biggest Fan, ALWAYS,

Keeping the faith;

Ashish

YOU MUST READ THIS ONE. IT'S A FUNNY STORY OF WHEN I MET MR. BON JOVI AND MAKE HIM LAUGH. In Feb. 2006 at the Gwinnett Arena show you grabbed my hand when you made your way to the plat form to sing Last Man Standing. After the show in the lobby of your hotel you were kind enough to stop and sign some autographs. For 20 + years I have thought of many things to ask or say to you. As you signed the back of a picture I had taken at the Jan. 2006 show at Phillips Arena I had my chance. I wanted to ask if I could get a picture with you. After all I was standing right next to you with my hand on your shoulder. But what came out of my mouth was, "Thank you for grabbing my hand at the show" You flashed your million dollar smile and laughed your butt off along with everyone else. So, my question is this: How does it feel to know you have this affect on women? Turning a 36 year old mother of 2 into a nervous 16 year old?

HI. What would it take to have the ban play at least one show with some rare old songs, from Bon Jovi or 7800F albums, other than Runaway..? Believe me, there are a lot of fans out there that would love to hear them one more time..as i know my memory has faded from those days.. PS. Silent Night, She Don't Know Me would be my pick THanks from a long time fan

Have you and do you remember ever kissing someone, and holding their hand, only to let them go :To go out and seek your destiny to become a rock star in which this was far more greater, than that perfect moment or did you love someone at first sight and accomplish your dreams at same time? Do you have any unresolved, or urequited love from the past? I remember do you? I know this sounds crazy, but this was probably before you became famous, 1978 or 1979 think it was 1979.? I was there, and just to let you know I will never forget you. I won't be obsessesd with you though, can't allow this to happen. My middle name you also know, starts with the letter F.

I mean, I don't really see any of them having the "Stay around and hold your hand " while your growing up power, that many of the band's of our day had,& Still have. Hey Jon!

OK, this question is kind of silly and I don't want to offend you but I've got to ask it anyway... Was the song "You give love a bad name" really written about Diane Lane?

Hi Jon, I know like me you suffer from bad Hay Fever, do you take any medication for it? I now take a drug called Acrivastine, it's the only thing I have found that helps. Thank you for the music you have given fans worldwide since the early 80's. You have helped me through some difficult times. I will always love you.

As a big country music fan, I only just started to play your music, because of" Lost Highway", I came across a song that just breaks my heart, it is "Someday I'll be Saturday Night", I would like to know where the part about the girl in foster care going to the street came from,. Where do you get the insight for your songs?--By the way, I love the new album, I lost my mom so "Whole Lot Of Leavin Going On " really hits home.

As a child I've grown up on Bon Jovi music. The artistic-genius work of "These Days" has been a major influence on my life. That would have been the perfect era to be at a Bon Jovi concert. But I was underaged to attend the Bon Jovi concert in 1995 here in Mumbai, India. Now I beg you, please do a gig here in India. You have know idea what a strong fanbase you'll have here. There's nothing I wouldn't do to see everyone, especially the "King of Swing" in action!!

After the commercial and critical success of Lost Highway do you have any obligation, either from the fans or the record company, to make your next album in the same country(esque) genre? And how do you think this effects your place in markets where country is not as popular as in the US?

Hi, is there something you keep in mind of the concert you did at the O2 Arena in London last month ? What it somehow special for you? I was there and thought it was so full of feelings; thank you for that beautiful moment. What did you think at the moment when Richie did that amazing solo on Any Other Day? You rock Guys. Greetings from France to all the band members. Hope to see you soon in Paris.

What phase of your career would you say has been your favorite or most special? Would it be the early starting days of Slippery When Wet, the 90's or the fact that in the years of 2000 your still going strong with music that is still great? Or that your music career opened a door to you for some acting and great charity work?

I loved the last 20 years of being a huge Bon Jovi fan and look forward to the next 20! Thank you!!

First, let me say thank you for over 20 years of great music. The work that you do to help people in various communities is truly inspirational. How do you decide which organizations to help and is it hard to refuse some requests?

Is it that bad to have it removed ?

Regardles you are still the best.

Bon Jovi, the band you lead, is known for inspiring their fans into leading a life of zeal an enthusiasm, as if injecting Jovi Blood Corposcules into thier veins. Not to mention all those upcoming musicians which idolize you, as much as they worship your band.

But, the band has never been the same since the These Days hiatus. There have been allegations of too many Its My Life clones. Do you feel the band still conveys the same philosophy as in its Glam Metal days? Do you feel the band stands for the same thing still? We know that you never have believed in nostalgia, and never like looking back, but isnt this a different matter?

Jon - you appear to be a very grounded and ethical man. Who or what fostered that type of moral value in you when you were younger, and how do you and Dorothea keep your older children in the same mindset, when they have such a famous father?

Do you feel like onstage the pressure is all on you? Eanyone up there can make a slight mistake and probably none of the screaming fans will notice, where as the crowd watches every one of your moves.

Jon:

You have stated that in order for any artist to be successful long term they need to be able to write songs. Do you think this is a skill that an artist can 'learn' or do you think it's more of a gift?

Posted by G Bellissimo in Mississauga, CANADA
Jon - you often say that you were not the most studious student, and that your passion was your music. As a mother of 4 boys, 2 of whom want to get into the music business,my question is, were your parents initially supportive of your dream and how did they support you if they were.

Posted by GBellissimo in Toronto CANADA
Jon - so many of your songs are themed around optimism (when things get tough) and love. Would that be a genuine part of an artist's personality to be able to write that type of song, and if so, what/who did you deep sense of love and optimism come from?

Times have changed both for bj fans and bon jovi moving into the millenium. It seems that most music has no substance to its lyrics and we live in an era where the looks of a person, and their-er-assets-are more important than whats ON the song itself. How do you guys feel about this whole change in music ideals?and in the process how do you stay true to your genre of music and still cover new ground? and what do your fans mean to you through it all?

I can imagine how painful it must be entertaining the same questions and answers over the years. Admittedly, it can be equally as painful listening to them - over and over again. There is so much that the band has experienced that I can't imagine it's all been covered. There must be more. What have we missed gentlemen? Tell us what you would like your fans to know that all the journalists in their infinite wisdom, have missed. Do you have any in-put with respect to the bands that are booked to open for you? Do you necessarily all like the music of the bands booked to open for you? Nickelback is - wow! Bring it on again! Were they selected because you are fans of their music, or was their being booked borne strictly out of a boardroom decision?

Before Lost Highway was released, you said you wouldn't be doing a tour for this country influenced album, only country festivals. Since it has become such a hit, have the plans for the tour changed? Will the 2008 tour be for Lost Highway and future albums pushed back? Love the album by the way. My favorite song on the album seems to change on a daily basis.

I know that Jon likes to work out and eat as healthy as possible. (Although Jon still smokes. Quit buddy. I did! Our children are reason enough to stop - that's what did it for me. If cigarettes were healthy, though, I'd have one right now! Ugh!). Do you work out daily (as I do)? Do you work out to maintain your stamina on stage (ahem), or is it more of a general health interest? Do all of the band members work out regularly?
