Spot the Difference

Chinese papers are obviously very tightly controlled indeed but with the approach of the 5 yearly Party Congress—due in the next month or so—at which major and minor political changes are announced, the media is practically frozen in lockstep. Yesterday’s front pages of the People’s Daily to three other major organs were virtually indistinguishable with the lead four stories (which are all reports about the activities of top leaders) boasting the same photos, layout, headlines, and content.

Very much the deer in the headlights reaction to danger from the editors. When elephants fight, they say, the mouse gets crushed and in this case the mice are hunkered down as low as they can go.

the photos and stories of top leader in china are all supplied by state media agency. So dont be too surprised about they looked like same.
By the way, you can still visit wikipedia through oversea proxy server and you wont get any trouble as long as you don't "misuse" it......

The very same day Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev got re-elected as President for life, as he changed the constitution and rounded up all seats in the parliament. China and Kazakhstan will cooperate in the development of Kazakhs' oil & gas industry, and to use oil money building a huge casino city that will rival Las Vegas for filthy rich Chinese comrades. Apparently, both countries agreed this is the most efficient and effective way to launder and recycle comrades' money.

Why all papers look the same? This is called authoritarian capitalism. Western democracy, eat your heart out, you can never compete.

Chinese media might be tightly controlled. So does some of western media. For example, isn't true that a sense of political correctness is the unwritten rule of reports published in the western media? Left wing newspapers will always argue against opinions in the right wing. Do the otherwise is forbidden.
This is the same to this China Blog, bashing China is the rule while admitting the progress China has been made so far is not allowed.

Well they are not going to agree. They have thought independently and come to their own conclusions.

the whole point of a free press is that the left wing and right wing don't have to agree with each other. Nothing is forbears

they've got. You got to stoop pretty low to argue with them, so why bother? Just don't even lower your standards to respond to them.
