Looks Like it Really Was the Hormones

Back in December, a team of cancer experts reported on a rather startling drop in new diagnoses of breast cancer in American women between 2002 and 2003. Their hypothesis: in 2002, researchers found that hormone-replacement therapy, or HRT, didn't help prevent heart disease, as everyone thought, but actually increased the risk. In the wake of that discovery, lots of post-menopausal women stopped taking estrogen and other hormones. These hormones are known to fuel the growth of some breast cancers, so it made sense--but it was still no more than a plausible idea.

Now it's looking a lot more plausible. The numbers are in for 2004, and as an article in the New England Journal of Medicine makes clear, and the rates continued to stay relatively low for that year too. The 2003 drop, in other words, was not a fluke.

Could there be another explanation? Possibly, but nobody has offered any.

Should be "between 2002 and 2003."

I am thankful that I did NOT choose to take HRT when my doctor recommended it, but I attribute that mostly to NOT being affected by hot flashes and most other annoying menopausal symptoms.

I read recently, I believe, that high blood pressure may cause or aggravate hot flashes.

I hope more women and doctors are paying attention to these early results.

I am prepared to test this cure for malignant tumors in a formal double-blind placebo controlled trial.The purpose of my above comment is to save human lives.The anecdote narrated by me is neither a fabricated freak of my imagination nor a lie propagated to pull crowds,but a naked truth,nothing but the truth.The patient of malignant,inoperable brain tumor I have cured is not a character of a science fiction come alive from HG Well's moth-eaten pages but a real person of flesh and blood. It is utterly shameful for the whole mankind that the effective and the harmless therapeutic tool for malignant tumors has existed with me since 2001 but nobody has cared to testify its veracity and as a result thousands of people world over have kept on dying agonizing deaths due to malignant tumors.I am not talking about a hypothesis, I am talking about a therapeutic measure that has actually worked.This is a glaring example of an outright apathy towards greatest breakthroughs taking place in the fields of medical science.I end my write up qouting bard of Avon's lines from Hamlet:"Horatio,there are more truths in heaven and earth than are dreamt in your philosophy."

Left Brain:

Snake venom is natural and it certainly has horrible side effects. So does natural uranium. Just because something is natural doesn't mean it will have zero side effects.

I doubt any results from a single patient because there are three things that can happen when you treat someone.

1. They get better
2. They get worse
3. They stay the same.

The same three things can happen if you don't treat them.

It's up to the person who is convinced their treatment was responsible to prove that they didn't just happen to pick a patient who was going to get better just on their own.
