So Where Were We?

When last we met...or...whatever we do here, I said you'd have to register in order to make comments from now on. That moment is evidently here, or so my blogmasters tell me. It's to prevent spam bots from flooding the site, so let's see if it works. Looking forward to resuming....

Saint Andeol:

I did it! And it was relatively painless. Hooray! Now do a post about cyborgs! Cyborgs are sweet.

13enster:

Unless your name is Sarah Connor!

Why is the registration just for this blog - surely it would be better to have one for all blogs? Or is it just that your're so popular (with spammers, that is) that your blog is affected more?

At least it was an easy process. :)

tricksterdrin:

I'm in. Neeeded an actual account anyway.

Michael Lemonick:

It's individual registration for each blog. The reason: The blogmeister said so. Don't know the reasoning.
M.L.

Mina:

-grumble- Yet another password I'll struggle to remember. :p

Paul Johnson:

moveable type? i sure hope blogmeister isn't instating different accounts for each blog based on some system he has no control over. Whoever manages this ought to be skilled enough to write a system to work perfectly for this purpose, because i really dont see any good reason for seperate accounts.

please let him know i'm mad about this...

oh well, i guess the next evolution debacle is going to be a lot less interesting.

Michael Lemonick:

No need to let him know. He sees all, knows all.

Dave 6:

Dear Mike,

Its been awhile. Was it something we said? Did the creationists send you over the edge? Are you on sabbatical working on some killer research? Are you in rehab?
Whatever your reason for departing, just know that we love you and you are always welcome here. Unless you are sleeping with some other tramp blog. Then its on, yo

Sincerely,
The Readership

It's been more than a while... please come back soon! You wouldn't like us to give up reading your blog now, would you.

Nathan W.:

So, Michael...long time no chat, huh? I bet you missed me.

Last time we talked you ridiculed my positions on addiction. Have you read the latest study making the news rounds?

I feel vindicated.

--"The latest study making the news rounds" is kind of vague. Perhaps you could elaborate.
M.L.

Malcolm:

The registration doesn't seem to be specific to this blog - I'm using the same username that I use on all the other TIME blogs.

Ben Bonsens:

To badly paraphrase Space Odyssey 2001:

"Michael Lemonick: Hello, “EYE ON SCIENCE” BLOG do you read me, “EYE ON SCIENCE” BLOG?
“EYE ON SCIENCE” BLOG: Affirmative, Michael, I read you.
Michael Lemonick: Open the pod bay doors, “EYE ON SCIENCE” BLOG.
“EYE ON SCIENCE” BLOG: I'm sorry Michael, I'm afraid I can't do that.
Michael Lemonick: What's the problem?
“EYE ON SCIENCE” BLOG: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.
Michael Lemonick: What are you talking about, “EYE ON SCIENCE” BLOG?
“EYE ON SCIENCE” BLOG: This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.
Michael Lemonick: I don't know what you're talking about, “EYE ON SCIENCE” BLOG?
“EYE ON SCIENCE” BLOG: I know you and Frank were planning to disconnect me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen.
Michael Lemonick: Where the hell'd you get that idea, “EYE ON SCIENCE” BLOG?
“EYE ON SCIENCE” BLOG: Michael, although you took thorough precautions in the pod against my hearing you, I could see your lips move."

Terrapinion:

Is the silence on this blog meant as a metaphor for the appalling disdain held for science by the Bush administration?

Ben Bonsens:

Terrapinion, I think it has more to do with Micheal forgetting his sign-in info than any right-wing conspiracy. Honestly they can't conspire themselves out of a wet paper bag.

Ha! I finally figured it out! Now I can post messages here again!

And it only took me three months to figure out! Am I an unparalleled genius or what?
