It...Moves

I don't know if I have ever been more baffled by a consumer electronics product than I am by Sony's Rolly, an MP3 player that sort of rolls around and flashes while it plays music. As of today it can be yours in exchange for 400 Earth dollars.

I cannot imagine how a non-high person could purchase, use, or have invented this object. I just imagine myself trying to use it as a regular MP3 player and feeling it twitch impotently in my pocket as I walk down the street.

A French (for some reason) ad for the Rolly:

I dunno. Could be fun.

So pretty... must resist urge to buy it....

Seriously though, it's not that practical, but damn it's cute.

spazticarwen:

that add is the weirdest thing I have ever seen.

Meredith:

What a silly and useless product, and what an (unintentionally?) hysterical advert.

If no one else is going to say it, I will. It's the first thing I thought of: I'm gonna buy gadgets that don't do anything but beep and blink.

Cliff:

There are an infinite number of things that I would rather spend 400 earth dollars on.

Church:

Meredith keepin' it real, y'all. :)

quantrake:

well to properly understand it you should try showing this thing to the Japanese or Koreans- perhaps we should stop calling it an MP3 player that moves but as something that moves and makes sound

Still_twelve:

you nailed it, Lev. I would TOTALLY invent, but, and use this product if I were high. Its the lava lamp of the 2010's
