Insider Advantage is out with a new poll in South Carolina. Last month, IA came out with shocking results on the Democratic side, showing Barack Obama leading Hillary Clinton by 14 points. Obama remains ahead of Clinton in this month's IA survey, but his lead is now down to 4 points:
Democrats
Obama 31
Clinton 27
Edwards 16
IA remains the only polling firm to show Obama ahead in South Carolina. Overall, Clinton maintains a slim 4.5% lead in the RCP Average.
On the Republican side, Insider Advantage also has come up with numbers significantly at odds with other recent polling in the state. Three polls taken during April pegged McCain's support between 22 and 36 percent. IA's new poll has him getting just 9%:
Republicans
Giuliani 22
Gingrich 15
Romney 10
McCain 9
F. Thompson 8
Obviously, on the heels of ARG showing McCain leading the field by 13 points, somebody has this race wrong. Overall, McCain is clinging to a 0.5% lead in the RCP Average for South Carolina.
