Iowa Dems Have Fun With Straw Poll

Perhaps envious of their Republican counterparts' opportunity to rake in more than $1 million in a single event, the Iowa Democratic Party is having some fun with the GOP. IDP spokesperson Carrie Giddins today emailed around a helpful odds sheet for those interested in making bets on the over/under. Some favorites:

Romney Flip-flops (just on Saturday) -- +/- 5
Former McCain staffers looking for work -- +/- 10 (a little personal, no?)
Times someone calls themselves a true conservative -- +/- 300
Ronald Reagan mentions -- +/- 1000
People wishing Alan Keyes was running -- +/- 4000

Zing!

Though when giving the GOP grief, the Democrats should be ready to take some as well. Announcing their booth at the Iowa State Fair, which begins today, the IDP said it would release a daily schedule of presidential candidates and elected officials to their booth. But they're not off to a strong start. From the release:

"Thursday, August 9th:
No visits scheduled"

But they do note that Sam the Sham (but no Pharaohs?) and Percy Sledge will be at the fair on Sunday, along with the traditional butter cow...
