New IA Poll

A new Zogby poll of 503 likely Iowa caucus-goers shows Senator Hillary Clinton making a big move. After trailing in a May poll, Clinton is now seven points up on her nearest rival. The poll was conducted 8/17-19.

The cross-tabs show that while Clinton is winning big among Iowa women, former Senator John Edwards is leading among Iowa men. Edwards, increasingly focusing on Iowa as a must-win state, will need to grow that lead in order to retake the lead from Clinton.

Democrats
Clinton 30 (+6 from 5/15 poll)
Edwards 23 (-3)
Obama 19 (-3)
Richardson 10 (+4)
Biden 3 (-1)

Clinton's lead in the latest RCP Iowa Average is 1.4%.

Zogby is set to release Iowa Republican numbers tomorrow, the first survey taken after the Iowa Straw Poll. Here's where we get to see how big former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee's bounce really was.

Update: One source teases that the new Zogby Iowa Republican poll will show that Hawkeye GOPers do not appreciate candidates who skip the Iowa straw poll. More to come tomorrow.
