Fox Poll: Big Moves, Same Stories

A new Fox News poll out today, conducted among 900 registered voters with subsamples of 396 Democrats (margin of error +/- 5%) and 297 Republicans (+/- 6%). The sample sizes are almost too small, as we see from Duncan Hunter's surprising 3% mark (that's 9 people), but if this isn't an outlier poll, then Fred Thompson, John McCain and Hillary Clinton are on the move. Even though Edwards moves impressively as well, does it matter if he remains so far behind the New Yorker?
Democrats
Clinton 43 (+5 from 8/21-22)
Obama 24 (-1)
Edwards 13 (+5)
Biden 2 (nc)
Kucinich 2 (-2)
Democrats (w/Gore)
Clinton 39 (+4)
Obama 20 (-3)
Edwards 13 (+7)
Gore 9 (-1)
Hillary Clinton still leads big in the latest RCP Average, at 43.1%, 19.3% ahead of Barack Obama. Obama's 23.8% leads John Edwards, at 15.4%, while Bill Richardson trails the pack at 3.3%.
Republicans
Giuliani 34 (+4)
Thompson 22 (+7)
McCain 16 (+9)
Romney 8 (-4)
Hunter 3 (+3)
Republicans (w/Gingrich)
Giuliani 32 (+3)
Thompson 21 (+7)
McCain 15 (+8)
Romney 8 (-3)
Gingrich 4 (-1)
Hunter 3 (+3)
Giuliani continues his lead in the latest RCP Average, at 28.6%. Thompson comes in 5.2% behind at 23.4%, followed by John McCain at 15.3% and 10.8%.
A little dessert: Asked about their feelings on a number of public officials and figures, 68% said they had a favorable opinion of Oprah Winfrey, while 21% has an unfavorable view of her.
