USA Today/Gallup Poll

New USA Today/Gallup poll on 2008 (September 7-8, 425 GOP LV, 500 Dem LV). On the Democratic side, Clinton's big lead remains unchanged:

Clinton 45 (-3 vs. last poll August 13-16)
Obama 24 (-1)
Edwards 16 (+3)
Biden 3 (+2)
Richardson 2 (nc)
Undecided 5 (-1)

In a two person race between Clinton and Obama, Clinton wins by 31 points, 63-32. Clinton leads by 16.7% in the RCP Average for the Democratic nomination.

On the Republican side, everyone ticked up except Mitt Romney:

Republicans
Giuliani 34 (+2 vs. August 13-16)
Thompson 22 (+3)
McCain 15 (+4)
Romney 10 (-4)
Huckabee 5 (+1)
Undecided 8 (-3)

Republicans appear to be more comfortable with their choices now, as 70% say they are "generally pleased with the selection of candidates," a nine point increase from August.

Gallup also asked for Republican preferences in a two person race between Giuliani and Thompson, and Giuliani and Romney. Rudy currently beats Fred by 13 points (53-40) while Rudy crushes Romney by 45 points (68-23).

Giuliani currently leads by 9.5% in the RCP Average for the Republican nomination.
