The Tories are on the rise in Britain, according to a new Telegraph/You Gov poll, while the public appears to have soured fairly quickly on new PM Gordon Brown's leadership.
The Conservative Party, led by David Cameron, have now taken a three point lead over Brown's Labour Party, 41-38, with the Lib Dems dropping to 11%.
The number of people "satisfied" with Gordon Brown's leadership has declined dramatically. One month ago Brown had a net positive rating, with 44% "satisfied" and 33% "dissatisfied." This month his rating is the opposite, with only 34% "satisfied" and 48% "dissatisfied." That's a net 25-point negative swing against Brown in one month.
Perhaps equally as devastating, the number of people viewing Brown as "indecisive" shot up from 17% last month to 44% this month, while those seeing him as a "decisive" leader declined 13 points over the same period.
On the other hand, views of Tory leader David Cameron have improved dramatically. In the latest poll 40% now believe Cameron is "proving to be a good leader," up 19 points versus last month.
Lastly, the public's confidence in the Labour Party to handle economic issues has dropped significantly. On the question of which party "is more likely to run Britain's economy well," Labour scored 35%, a fourteen point decline versus last month, while Conservatives received 32%, a five point increase over the same period.
