The Great Prostate Debate

A bit of a firestorm has erupted over whether survival rates among those diagnosed with prostate cancer are greater in the United States than in Britain. Rick Klein started it with this article questioning the survival rates Rudy Giuliani cited in this ad taking a shot at Britain's system of socialized medicine.
Paul Krugman immediately threw a hissy fit, as did the Washington Post, Kevin Drum ("Giuliani is full of shit") and Ezra Klein ("It's -- no pun intended -- crap").
But Clive Crook disagrees. And so does David Gratzer, the author of the original City Journal article where Rudy got his stats. Gratzer penned a lenghty rebuttal yesterday saying that Rudy's critics are wrong. Read it all and decide who's got the better of the argument.
