Barone's Early State Breakdown

Here's the invaluable Michael Barone's guide to Super Tuesday.

Starting with Republicans, Barone lists states he thinks have a good chance of being "called" by 8pm EST:

Illinois (70 delegates, congressional district) - McCain
Massachusetts (43, CD) - Romney
Connecticut (30, winner take all) - McCain

On the Democratic side, states likely to be called early (but remember all states hand out delegates proportionally) are:

Illinois (185 delegates) - Obama
Georgia (103) - Obama
Massachusetts (121) - Clinton

The proportional allotment will lessen any particular state "winner" on the Dem side of course. But we shouldn't underestimate how big wins could be spun by the campaigns.
