2:18PM - CNN has the results, with 100% precincts reporting:
Huckabee 567 (52%)
Romney 521 (47%)
McCain 12 (1%)
By grabbing a majority, Huckabee wins West Virginia's 18 delegates.
2:05 UPDATE: With 25 counties reporting, here's where things stand:
Huckabee 277
Romney 249
McCain 6
As noted below, McCain's delegates decided to go for Huckabee.
1:40PM UPDATE: Freddoso has more on the politicking going on:
I'm told that Romney led on the first ballot but hasn't locked down the majority he needs. Paul has fallen off the ballot, and his supporters could decide it. McCain is still on the ballot, but his people are going with Huckabee, to try to give him the win in the second round. Paul's people could be the ones to decide it.
Well, that would certainly be a first.
1:10PM: In Charleston, W. Va., right now, 1,200 county delegates are duking it out for the state's 18 convention delegates. In the first roll of the vote, however, no candidate received the requisite majority, although Romney got as high as 41%, which means they'll vote again shortly.
The rest of W. Va.'s 30 delegates will be decided in the May 13 state-wide primary. Just another twist in this most confusing of days.
