Clinton Camp Wants Answers

In a conference call with reporters today, Clinton communications director Howard Wolfson and deputy communications director Phil Singer called out Obama for not answering all of the questions asked of him regarding the Tony Rezko trial.

"Obama had an opportunity yesterday to put some of the questions of his relationship with Mr. Rezko to rest," Wolfson said. "The bottom line is that Democrats are prepared to begin voting in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island and Vermont, and there are many many more questions than answers in regards to the Rezko matter. Voters deserve answers."

"The fact that Senator Obama is refusing to answer the most basic questions should set off alarms in newsrooms across America," Singer said. "To each question, he gave no answer. ... Senator Obama has made a commitment to ethics reform and transparency. ... If the Obama campaign practices what it preaches, surely it will step up to the plate and answer all these questions in due haste."
