ABC News: Bush Approval at New Low

President Bush's approval rating dipped to 31% in the new ABC News poll, an all time low. Sixty-six percent disapprove of the way he's handling his job as presdient, including a record-tying 52% who "strongly" disapprove.
The ABC News poll also records a drop in public perception of which direction the country is heading. Only 16% say the country is headed in the "right direction," while more than eight in ten (82%) say things "have gotten pretty seriously off on the wrong track." That's the largest disparity between these two figures since June of 1992.
These results are consistent with other recent polls. In the RCP Average of the most recent public polls, President Bush's job approval rating stands at 30.4% while his disapproval rating is 64.8%. Likewise, the RCP Average pegs the right direction/wrong direction numbers at 15.3% and 77.3%, respectively.
