Nat'l Poll: Both Dems Defeat McCain

In a new national poll by Quinnipiac (May 8-12), both Obama and Clinton beat John McCain in a general election matchup. For the Democratic nomination, Obama bests Clinton by 4 points. And by another large margin, 63% said Clinton should remain in the race.

General Election (1,745 RV, MoE +/- 2.4%)

Obama 47 - McCain 40
Clinton 46 - McCain 41

Dem Nomination (864 Dem RV, MoE +/- 3.3%)

Obama 45
Clinton 41
Und 14

Obama leads Clinton by 7.8 points in the RCP Nat'l Average. And in the general election matchups, both Obama and Clinton lead McCain by 4.8 points.
