Rep. Donnelly, Mayor Nagin Back Obama

The Obama campaign announced this morning that Indiana Rep. Joe Donnelly is endorsing Obama. Clinton won most of the counties in the freshman congressman's district, which includes Notre Dame, though Obama carried South Bend's St. Joseph County. Donnelly knocked off a Republican incumbent in 2006, in a district that gave President Bush 56% of the vote in 2004.

It was also announced this morning that New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin is endorsing Obama. Here is an excerpt from his statement:

Since the immediate days following the storm, I have been travelling to our nation's capitol to advocate for policies that aid our rebuilding effort. I know firsthand, we desperately need the leadership of someone committed to changing the system in Washington that can hold us back from moving forward.
