This afternoon, three more superdelegates announced their support for Obama: Kansas Democratic Party Chairman Larry Gates, and Alaskans Cindy Spanyers and Blake Johnson. Obama won three-fourths of the vote in both the Kansas and Alaska nominating events on February 5.

Here is an excerpt from Gates's announcement:

"Kansans can unite behind Sen. Obama and his positive campaign, and that is why I have chosen to endorse him," Gates said. "He has proven his ability to bring Democrats, Republicans and Independents together, and holds the same commitment to working across party lines as Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius."
