As Tom noted this morning, the economy presents a big headwind for McCain. Following today's jobs report the Dow got pummeled and dropped nearly 400 points after oil rose $11 to hit $139 a barrel.

Unfortunately for McCain, there's little he can do other than ride this one out and hope for the best.
