Insert Joke Here. No, Really. They Need One.
You may have heard that Fox News has hired "24" producer Joel Surnow to create what everyone kind of has to call "a conservative Daily Show." As anyone who has dabbled in comedy can tell you, starting out with a political objective or message is pretty much death for the funny. What makes something like the Daily Show work is execution, not aim. Saying "conservative Daily Show" makes about as much sense as "conservative machine gun." Even Dick Cheney would have a hard time shooting someone with this piece of crap:
They're calling it "The 1/2 Hour News Hour," which at least gets across that the show feels much much longer than it actually is.
